Last week Nassau, Bahamas suffered a direct hit from a category 4 hurricane. This is very unusual for Nassau and the first direct hit in nearly 100 years. We have had Water's Edge for 10 years and never suffered damage from any storm.
The house itself is a rock star, there's nothing like solid concrete, and survived the storm with nothing more damaging than easily mopped up water on the floors (thankfully we had put up all the furniture) and some missing roof shingles.
The outside of the house was not so lucky. We did lose our seawall and had damage to the bottom level patio and bar. Thankfully the pool survived with no structural issues. We also lost our front fence.
So, Mark and I are here to make things right and we won't leave until the work is completed and personally approved by us. We are taking advantage of this opportunity to improve some things at Water's Edge that we have been thinking about for some time (like the usability of the bottom patio). We won't spoil the surprise but will be sending out before and after photos as the work gets completed.
Our stellar maintenance crew is already hard at work on making Water's Edge better than ever. You can see them in the photo already replacing the front fence!
The bad news is that I won't be able to send out any last minute offers for a while. The good news is that anyone who comes to stay after Mark and I leave will be treated to some brand new and exciting updates at Water's Edge.
Looking forward to showing you all the progress.
